About the Author
Tony
Mozingo (tony@toottootpublishing.com)
is an attorney and judge in South Mississippi. With more than
fifteen years of experience in courtrooms around the south, he has
contributed articles to newspapers and given countless interviews on
a variety of issues, many of those concerning the crown jewel of the
piney woods’ recreational venues, the Longleaf Trace Recreational
Trail.
Since 2004, Tony Mozingo has done literally hundreds of interviews
and spent hundreds of hours poring over and collecting research
related to the Mississippi Central Railroad, which is now the
Longleaf Trace. He’s had behind-the-scenes access to the
construction and development of the Trace and has developed a close
relationship
with the few gifted curators of the history of the railroad and
timber industries in the area. As the only writer who has studied
every facet of the Trace’s journey though history, he’s had a truly
unique perspective from which to document the Longleaf Trace for its
official guidebook’s purposes.
Among Tony Mozingo’s personal accomplishments are his completion of
dozens of triathlons and marathons, including the Ironman Hawaii
World Championship. He regularly rides and runs on the Longleaf
Trace and has raised thousands of dollars for projects related to
the Trace through charity events.
Tony Mozingo is a graduate of U.S.M. and Mississippi College School
of Law and currently lives in Lamar County, Mississippi with his
wife Ashley, and children Robert Lee, Grace, and Millie Rose.
